It is critical to our physical and mental health that we have a positive perspective on problems, and that we understand that nothing happens in the right order. Not everything goes the way you planned it. Not every setback means you failed.
Sometimes the longest road brings you the greatest insights. The long road makes us stronger. Failed attempts have their purpose.

It takes a lot of courage to live a life that’s different from the one people expected you to. Life is about finding joy in the journey, not just the destination, it is serving a need, and giving others hope.

The most powerful thing you can do is very simply change your perspective on the value of failed attempts. Begin with taking purposeful systematic control of the content of your conscious mind. CS Lewis said, “There are no ordinary people, we are all capable of the extraordinary.”

We are not always making the progress we seek. Often there are unforeseen obstacles. In 2011 everything changed. It began a series of life hurricanes. Cancer, depression, and divorce were unforeseen obstacles. I did not know what to do if it were not for others around me. The mind is a battlefield. We must have the fortitude to move forward and respond with resilience. Each of us has a journey to travel, and a dream to fulfill, and truthfully, it will be harder than it looks.
